Why use a specialist's services?

We are passionately committed to the welfare of animals that need our help. Everything we do aims to achieve the best possible quality of life, and we only recommend surgical intervention when it is best for our patients. It is easy to say, but can be difficult to put into practice. At SEVeterinaris we are specialists, similar to specialists in human medicine, where each of us is dedicated to providing your pet with the best treatment and care. Here you can find all the information about what a veterinary specialist is. We work as a team with the owner and their vet, in the best interest of their pet. Please note that you do not have to be a specialist to offer a referral service. If you want your pet to be treated by a specialist with specialist-level knowledge and experience, make sure they are referred to a recognised European or American specialist. Genuine specialists will hold the Diploma in their specialty.

Our team receives referral cases in soft tissue surgery, orthopaedics and neurosurgery, and an anaesthesia specialist leads the anaesthesia service. We also have radiologists when needed (X-rays, CT and MRI).

How to refer a case?

We are an extension of your veterinarians and cannot accept referrals directly from owners or give advice to owners who have not previously been seen for a specific condition by their vet. If you think your pet might benefit from a specialist's opinion, you should discuss this with your vet, who can refer the case to us if appropriate.

It may be that the referral is not appropriate, but this does not mean we cannot help you and your pet, as we offer an advisory service to vets, as well as radiograph/CT reading and case reviews.

How does the consultation take place?

Your initial consultation will be with the clinical specialist who will be in charge of your pet's care. These consultations take place at your clinic and generally last 1 hour, so there is sufficient time for a full assessment of your pet, discussion of treatment options and answering any of your questions. Most surgical cases can be performed at your clinic, as we have invested heavily in state-of-the-art surgical equipment to maximise surgeries and achieve the best outcome for your pet's condition. However, in some more complex cases, surgery may need to be performed where specific equipment, such as fluoroscopy or CT, is available. This will be discussed with you if deemed necessary.

Payment

We always work in the best interest of your pet, and all consultations regarding pricing and treatment estimates for your pet should be discussed with your vet before arranging an appointment with us, as no two pets are the same. Your vet has no obligation to recommend us. If they did, it is because they value the care and expertise we can provide for your pet.

Su veterinario no tiene la obligación de recomendarnos. Si nos recomendaron, es porque valoran el cuidado y la experiencia que podemos brindarle a su mascota.
